An acrylic skin is simply a sheet dried acrylic paint and or acrylic mediums. I first became interested in their usefulness because I dislike wasting paint. I often use the dried paint off my pallet for other projects. Within the past year have I been creating them on purpose (like the one above) to use building texture into my paintings. After the intended project I did not want to discard the scraps. I decided to use them in projects along with two part jewelry grade acrylic resin. Why should walls have all the fun of being adorned with acrylic painting? Below are photos of some of the pieces I will be working on over the next few weeks. I will be posting the progress of my resin baubles every Thursday, and an update whenever I complete a piece. Most will include acrylic skins, other uses of acrylic paint, and or other mixed media fun that I can’t wait to share with you. I hope you enjoy, and would love to hear what you think.
